A thigh lift can help reshape the thighs by reducing excess skin and fat.
In some individuals, removal of excess skin may reduce chafing or irritation. Outcomes vary.
Removal of excess skin may alter areas where skin laxity is present. Individual results vary.
At Aurez Aesthetics, your health, safety, and goals are our top priorities. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your medical history, assess your suitability, and ensure expectations are realistic.
Common considerations include:
Addressing excess or sagging skin after significant weight reduction.
Managing changes in skin tone and elasticity that occur over time.
Skin laxity that may cause physical irritation or functional concern.
We begin by discussing your goals and reviewing your health and skin condition. Your practitioner will outline possible approaches and general recovery considerations.
You’ll receive detailed pre-operative instructions to support recovery.
The procedure involves removal of excess skin and tissue. Surgical techniques are selected based on individual anatomy and clinical assessment.
Swelling, bruising, and temporary discomfort are common following surgery. Recovery experiences vary between individuals. See the FAQs for detailed risks.
Note: As with any surgical procedure, there are risks, including infection, scarring, asymmetry, and changes in skin sensation. Your practitioner will discuss these in detail during your consultation.
Many patients resume light activities within one to two weeks, depending on individual healing and clinical advice. Strenuous activity is typically delayed for several weeks.
Scarring is an expected outcome of thigh lift surgery. The length, location, and appearance of scars vary depending on surgical technique and individual healing response.
Thigh lift surgery removes excess skin; however, outcomes vary. Ageing, weight changes, and other factors may influence contour over time.
If you have concerns about your outcome, a review consultation can be arranged. Healing takes time, and further assessment may be required before discussing additional options.
Preparation may include avoiding specific medications, smoking cessation, and ensuring optimal health.
Thigh lift surgery is a surgical procedure and, as with all surgery, carries inherent risks and potential complications. These may include bleeding, bruising, swelling, pain, infection, delayed wound healing, fluid accumulation (seroma), haematoma, and adverse reactions to local or general anaesthesia. Scarring is an expected outcome of thigh lift surgery. The length, location, and appearance of scars vary depending on the surgical technique used, individual anatomy, skin quality, and healing response. Scars may be prominent, widen, become raised, or remain visible despite appropriate care. Changes in skin sensation, including numbness, tingling, altered sensitivity, or discomfort of the thighs or surrounding areas, may occur. These changes are usually temporary but may be prolonged or permanent in some cases. Contour irregularities, asymmetry, skin laxity, residual fullness, over- or under-correction, or dissatisfaction with aesthetic outcome may occur. Revision surgery may be required to address these concerns. Wound complications such as wound separation, skin breakdown, delayed closure, or skin necrosis may occur, particularly in areas of tension or friction. These complications may require additional treatment, dressings, or further surgical intervention. More serious but less common risks include deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism, fat embolism, or cardiopulmonary complications. These risks are increased by factors such as smoking, obesity, reduced mobility, certain medical conditions, and prolonged surgery. Results vary between individuals and cannot be guaranteed. Individual risk depends on factors including overall health, smoking status, body mass index, skin quality, surgical technique, and adherence to post-operative instructions. These risks, along with alternatives, limitations, and expected recovery, will be discussed in detail during your consultation to support informed decision-making.
